Audio-Echo.co.uk is a mixture of portfolio, magazine and platform for downloading soundtracks created by Peter Simcoe. The idea is that this site combines the professional, creative and personal in a way that groups related articles, downloads and subjects together. The soundtracks are professionally produced for personal download as a result of concerts performed and the tracks are also available under a commercial license for use in video in a similar way to the portfolio items created for www.istockphoto.com and www.audiojungle.net. The site is linked directly to a verified PayPal account where users can download the original soundtracks for 99p or £5 for collections.

Virgin Trains Website Background

Virgin Trains used an image created by Simcoemedia Design Consultancy in the background of their website home page from May 2011 to October 2011. The image was taken on the meadows next to the River Dee in Chester facing over to the houses that line the riverbank on the road leading to Christleton. It was taken in May 2009 just at the time when the yellow buttercup flowers were particularly bright and trees had fresh green leaves on their branches.

It is great to see an image created by Simcoemedia used prominently on a major UK website and it was only when I came to book some tickets with Virgin Trains to go to the New Designers Exhibition in London in July 2011, that I realised the image had been downloaded from my Chester photography lightbox on iStockphoto.com portfolio and used! What a pleasant surprise.

Ridgeway Marketing website

Ridgeway Marketing is a Training and Mentoring company based in Newark, Nottinghamshire. The company helps small to medium businesses [SME's], schools, creative industries and new start-ups to expand the marketing tools available to them through carefully tailored group and individual mentoring. Simcoemedia was asked to produce a website for the company which is based around the WordPress engine, allowing the client to login to the system to make changes and add news items. Director, Beryl Pettitt, had this to say:

Simcoemedia have provided Ridgeway Marketing with an excellent website and I’m really happy with the results. The website has a slider homepage image, news section and detailed training and mentoring sections and provides a clear, effective user journey through the site whilst also allowing access to third level detail pages with little effort.

Loughborough Design School

Loughborough Design School was launched on 1 August 2010. It is an amalgamation of 3 departments currently working independently at Loughborough University – Design and Technology, Ergonomics and the ESRI research group. Simcoemedia was asked in November 2009 to manage the rollout of the website and to ensure that all information is collected as efficiently as possible and is accurate. There has also been need to work closely with marketing and design groups within Loughborough University to ensure that the design of the site fulfills the needs and expectations of the University in a wider context.

The Design School will also enable us to ensure that the University, and Britain, remain at the forefront of creative expertise and that out students are equipped with the right skills and knowledge to achieve their career objectives and potential. - Tony Hodgson, Head of School

Model Logic logo and website design

Simcoemedia has just completed a corporate identity and web design project with Model Logic, a supply chain and logistics consultancy with substantial track record of helping companies to achieve greater efficiency and productivity across numerous industry sectors – from grocery, food and drink, pharmaceuticals, media and entertainment, through to DIY, building and gardening supplies. The corporate identity was developed to convey reliability with precision as well as something complimentary to the general colour scheme.

Fi Burke artists web portfolio

Fi Burke, a Nottingham visual artist, asked Simcoemedia to redesign her website to display her work in a stylish and elegant way. The site uses WordPress with a template adapted to her needs and visual preferences. The focus is primarily on displaying work, but the system uses some of the classic WordPress features to enable news and new images to be added as they are published in galleries and exhibitions in the UK.

Drawing Research Network website

The Drawing Research Network was established in 2003 and now has over 400 members. Participants are based in universities and colleges of art and design with established teaching and/or research profiles in drawing. Some have an interest in, for example, drawing therapy, the cross-curricular role of drawing in schools or digital drawing others simply have an interest in drawings and the drawing process which might include in making, thinking about and communicating on drawing. Individuals and institutions use the Network to communicate news, to explore possibilities for cooperation in drawing research, to formulate collaborative projects and to share outputs. Membership of the Network is free.

Lboro Social Sciences and Humanities

The Department of Social Sciences and Humanities at Loughborough University required a new website. Simcoemedia was asked to facilitate and manage the production of the site which included liasing with Design and Print, various academics and managers regarding the content and direction and some video production elements. The gallery pages are ongoing in terms of development – images and video will be added and removed as projects evolve.

Music Therapy Research website

Dr Eddie Norman and Liz Norman have worked together to produce a music therapy research website giving an overview of research and encouraging participants. The site also provides a selection of YouTube clips where an accurate and concise overview of many of the aspects of this subject are covered.

Since the original design and production, the site has expanded to feature video contributions from students in the Department of Design and Technology demonstrating some of the products they have designed responding to a therapists brief. Simcoemedia has mainly been involved with the overall layout and design of the site as well as contributing to maintenance.

Greenbarnes website revamp and CMS

Another Simcoemedia design using the WordPress engine to drive it. The Greenbarnes website now features a reasonably sophisticated Content Management System allowing pages to be edited, images to be added and new products to be announced using the news page. Some of the highlights of the site are the Product pages featuring the product popup images for ease of browsing through options, the animated Tag Cloud as a unique way of navigating and broadening horizons as well as a densely packed Zeemaps product map page amongst many others!
