Via Mat International are a transportation and logistics company based in Zurich, Switzerland. The company specialises in the transportation of precious goods around the world – their corporate moto being “safe from safe to safe”. Simcoemedia was asked to design some A0 promotional posters for the various services offered including transport by road and air, storage of precious items, company philosophy and global networking. The end result is a selection of 5 images designed to be used at a conference in March and internally eg board room, meeting room, entrance etc.

iStockphoto is an online stock photography company providing access to a low – medium budget photography library produced by semi-professional and professional designers, photographers and illustrators. The library can really make a difference to a project if the user requires a stunning photograph or illustration without the stunning price tag traditionally associated with these organisations. Greenbarnes Aluminium brochure

Greenbarnes required a design update for their 2005 Aluminium brochure. The previous brochure had also been designed by Simcoemedia and it was a great opportunity to look at how both Greenbarnes as a company had developed and also new design skills and experience would allow for some fine tuning of layout, style and presentation techniques. The great thing about using desktop publishing software such as Adobe’s InDesign is that it is very easy to create output for both printed and web based media. Design-Designed to help clients online

www.design-design.co.uk has been set up as part of the Simcoemedia Network of sites to assist clients in their daily tasks. Most clients use the web on a regular basis or require printed material and have benefited from the weekly research carried out by Simcoemedia to keep up with the latest activity on the web, new technologies, future products, hardware and software issues relevant to their activity. The idea is that Design-Design compliments this portfolio by presenting more objective news to the client allowing them to experiment in their own online experiences and compare notes or learn new techniques.

New Loughborough School website

Loughborough University needed to amalgamate the Sport and Exercise Sciences and Human Sciences departments together to form the new School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences. This new school would officially be opened on 1 August 2009 and both departments required an assessment of the existing information, amalgamation of the relevant information and removal of any information no longer necessary. This process was completed within the 4 month deadline.

Dr Ice Formula Ice promo brochure

Professor Kristan Bromley [otherwise known as Dr Ice] has been a long standing Simcoemedia client. One of his recent projects was the Formula Ice educational project aimed at informing and educating within schools and providing practical examples of the science behind some elements of winter sport with a focus upon skeleton bobsleigh events. Simcoemedia was asked to design the promotional brochure.

Gordon Giltrap’s Secret Valentine

Simcoemedia was given the opportunity to design artwork for Gordon Giltrap’s Secret Valentine album – an experimental album created using a hybrid polymer guitar developed by Cool Acoustics, a research project based at Loughborough University in Leicestershire by Dr Owain Pedgley and Dr Eddie Norman in 2002. Here’s Owain talking about the project and the role of Simcoemedia in the creation of promotional print, websites and video:

Working on a project like Cool Acoustics has created a variety of opportunities for research and development into exciting new ways of creating guitars that were previously thought inappropriate or were impossible. Simcoemedia has always understood our research and development and pitched our publicity at just the right level with a great balance of informative message, coherent structure and visually very strong presentation. We’ve always been very happy with the results, across an impressive range of media, whether it’s generating images in a photographic studio, interviewing key collaborators on the project, or delivering the project’s website.

We have had a lot of positive feedback from our collaborators and clients on the clean and professional way in which Cool Acoustics presents itself. Simcoemedia has done a terrific job for us.
